การกระจายพันธุ์
     ไม้ล้มลุกหรือไม้พุ่มเตี้ย สูงได้ประมาณ 1 ม. แตกกิ่งมาก กิ่งเป็นริ้ว มีขนประปรายตามข้อ ใบรูปไข่หรือแกมรูปขอบขนาน ยาว 0.5-3.5 ซม. ปลายใบแหลมหรือมน โคนใบเรียวแคบจรดก้านใบ ขอบใบจักซี่ฟันห่างๆ หรือเกือบเรียบ แผ่นใบมีต่อม ก้านใบยาว 0.5-1 ซม. ดอกมี 1-4 ดอก ในแต่ละข้อ ก้านดอกยาว 0.3-1 ซม. ไม่มีใบประดับ กลีบเลี้ยง 4 กลีบ แยกเกือบจรดโคน กลีบรูปไข่แกมรูปขอบขนาน ยาวประมาณ 1.5 มม. ขยายในผลเล็กน้อย ขอบมีขนครุย กลีบดอกสีขาว โคนมีสีม่วงอ่อน รูปขอบขนาน ยาวประมาณ 3 มม. ปลายมน กลีบบนมีขนาดใหญ่กว่ากลีบอื่นเล็กน้อย บานหรือพับงอกลับ ปากหลอดกลีบมีขนยาวหนาแน่น ขอบจักตื้นๆ เกสรเพศผู้ 4 อัน ยาวเท่าๆ กลีบดอก ก้านชูอับเรรูสีขาว มีสีม่วงอ่อนช่องปลายก้าน อับเรณูรูปขอบขนานติดกัน รังไข่ทรงกลม ก้านชูเกสรเพศเมียเรียวยาว โคนหนา ยาวเท่าๆ เกสรเพศผู้ แคปซูลกลม เส้นผ่านศูนย์กลางประมาณ 2-3 มม. columella ติดทน กรดน้ำขึ้นเป็นวัชพืชทั่วไปในเขตร้อน โดยเฉพาะระดับความสูงไม่มากนัก
